Pajari: We couldn't have asked for more from Sweden

Joint WRC2 Challenger class leader Sami Pajari says he took as much as he could from his maiden loose surface outing in a Toyota GR Yaris Rally2 in Sweden earlier this month.

Driving a Printsport-run car, the Finn finished second in the overall WRC2 category - trailing only local hero Oliver Solberg in Umeå. Pajari admitted he was pleased with what he'd achieved.

“I don’t think I could ask for more from Sweden,” he said. “We know that Oliver [Solberg] will be really strong Sweden. The rally was a little bit different this time – usually you are going flat out all the time, but the conditions were a bit more complicated.

"It was really demanding, you had to look after the tyres and take some care. For me, the result Enni [Mälkönen, co-driver] and me took was positive.”

Talking about the new Toyota, he added: “I’m really happy with it, there are some small things, but it was fast and reliable. With a few tweaks, we’ll be even stronger going forward.”

Pajari, who switched from a Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 to the all-new Yaris for 2024, shares the top of the WRC2 Challenger table with Rallye Monte-Carlo star Pepe López, who won the category at the season-opener last month.
