The Finn’s home round of the Fia World Rally Championship, last month’s Secto Rally Finland, ended in disappointment when he went off the road and out on the opening full day of competition.
Prior to that, the 32-year-old was a top-three finisher on four of his last five starts aboard an i20 N Rally1. His rough rally pace is beyond question – he’s won stages in Greece before and led on similar terrain in Turkey in 2019.
“Greece is a tough one,” said Lappi, “but the goal is for the podium – that’s where I want to be on Sunday, so this is what we will be pushing for.
