How did you get into rallying? “My father has been a rally driver since 1988, so really I was born into the sport.”
What was your first ever car? “I don't remember my first road car was, but my first rally car was a Volkswagen Scirocco. It was a fantastic car!”
Who was your childhood idol and why? “I was a big fan of Markko Martin, I used to follow his every stage from the internet. He has also done a lot to raise the profile of rallying in my home country.”
What do you think you'd do if you weren't a rally driver? “I’m sure that I would still be doing something with cars. Most of childhood was spent with friends where we could build and repair bikes, karts, cars or anything with a motor engine!”
Do you play any other sport? “I like to play squash in my free time. It’s a really good sport for keeping my fitness levels up too.”
What is your favourite animal and why? “Dogs, they are very good friends at home.”
What is your favourite holiday destination? “I’d like to spend some more time in New Zealand, I went there for the first time with the rally this year and it is an amazing place.”
What three words best describe you? “I’m not very good at describing myself, but I can tell you that I am not an easy person and I always want the best!”
Where do you see yourself in ten years’ time? “I hope I will still be busy with my rallying.”
And finally, what has been your most embarrassing moment? “It is so embarrassing that I couldn’t possibly tell you...”
