Put those statistics to the Frenchman and he smiles a rueful smile. He’s only started two events and only one of those was a round of the FIA World Rally Championship. But the thinking’s not lost on the 29-year-old.
His performance on the season-opener was exemplary, winning two stages and never running outside the top-five. What made it even more special was doing that in his home country, with the competitive route for Rallye Monte-Carlo running entirely in his native France.
“Monte-Carlo is always something special,” he said. “And to have such a great start with Hyundai is really positive so I am really pleased with my rally.”
Typically, he’s deep into his analysis and looking at how he could have turned third place one or two positions better.

Fourmaux eyes more success after dream Hyundai start
Life as a Hyundai Motorsport driver has started very well for Adrian Fourmaux – he enjoys a 100% podium record on the events he’s started aboard an i20 N Rally1. And he’s won 50% of those.

He added: “We put a lot of pressure on Elfyn [Evans] and Séb [Ogier], but we couldn’t push it that little bit more with so much snow on the road. We didn’t want to risk too much. It’s a shame, but it’s a part of game – we have no regrets.”
Looking ahead to next week's Rally Sweden (13 - 16 February), Fourmaux’s excited about the snow this time.
“Sweden will be good, for sure,” he said. “We will be second on the road in the snow and the cold temperatures, but I am really looking forward to it.”
