After making the switch from M-Sport Ford to Hyundai during the off-season, Fourmaux stole the spotlight on his i20 N Rally1 WRC debut at Rallye Monte-Carlo last week - clinching two stage wins and securing an impressive third-place finish with co-driver Alex Coria alongside.
The 29-year-old finished as Hyundai’s top driver, with 2019 WRC winner Ott Tänak over 30 seconds behind in fifth as defending champion Thierry Neuville struggled to sixth after a tough opening round.
Despite having far less experience than his team-mates, Fourmaux is already making it clear he’s here to fight for more than just points.

“I’m not here to play behind,” says Hyundai newcomer Fourmaux
Adrien Fourmaux has wasted no time proving that his rookie status at Hyundai Motorsport will not stop him fighting for victories in this year’s FIA World Rally Championship.

“They (Tänak and Neuville) are the two world champions, so we will need to see how it goes,” he told WRC.com. “But for sure, [the result] shows also that they need to count on myself. I am not just here to play behind and wait for something to happen – I can also play in front.”
Hyundai will debut an updated version of its i20 N Rally1 at Rally Sweden, understood to feature various upgraded parts. The snow-and-ice event, based in Umeå, holds special memories for Fourmaux, who claimed his first-ever WRC podium there last year.
“Last year we started third in the road position, and we finished on the podium,” he said. “This time we will start second and we will try to do the same. I did try the new evo [car] in December, and I did like it. It was on snow, so let’s see.”
