Pelamourgues pushes on in WRC3

Following a delayed start to Rallye Monte-Carlo's Saturday proceedings in WRC3, Arthur Pelamourgues picked up from where he left off on Friday, significantly building his lead as the day unfolded.

There was a longer wait for WRC3 action to get underway on Saturday with the day’s opening stage being cancelled prior to WRC3 revving into action, on account of an incident involving a WRC2 competitor. But when action finally got underway, Pelamourgues immediately picked up from where he had left off the previous evening, with another quickest stage time in his Renault Clio Rally3.

On the final test of the morning loop, Italian Matteo Fontana was able to pick up his first stage win of the weekend, overtaking fellow Ford Fiesta Rally3 driver Ghjuvanni Rossi to move into second.

Pelamourgues continued his push on the afternoon loop, claiming another three stage victories before returning to the Gap service park with a seemingly unassailable lead of 4min 2.8sec.

Fontana meanwhile, spent the afternoon consolidating his second step on the podium, eventually completing the day with more than a minute separating him from Rossi.
