Just weeks after a breathtaking title race that literally went down to the final metres of the season at FORUM8 Rally Japan, the teams will line up in Monaco’s world-famous Casino Square to do it all again later this month.
The good news? The 2025 WRC story is one chapter longer, with this year’s calendar running to 14 rather than 13 rounds. And much as there’s plenty of interest in who’s driving what this year, the geography of this season’s world championship breaks new ground and takes the sport to more and more new countries.
Starting early, it’s the Spanish island of Gran Canaria in April. The twists and turns of the roads around Las Palmas will provide some of the season’s most challenging asphalt. Delfi Rally Estonia is back in the summer, with Paraguay’s all-new South American qualifier coming two rounds later.
And where does it all end? Try Saudi Arabia, for a fascinating return to the Middle East and, almost certainly, one of the warmest conclusions to a WRC season ever.
Who’s going? Well, Kalle Rovanperä’s back full-time and ready to chase a third drivers’ title in four years with the Toyota team. Adrien Fourmaux has jumped ship from M-Sport Ford to Hyundai and Irishman Josh McErlean steps up for the biggest season of his career to drive a second factory Puma Rally1.
The stages are well and truly set for another memorable year.
