Rovanperä refreshed and fired up for 2025 WRC bid

Double world champion Kalle Rovanperä says he’s refreshed and ready to launch his bid for a third title after his part-programme through 2024.

The Toyota star contested last weekend’s Rallye National Hivernal du Dévoluy in preparation for his full-time return at next month’s Rallye Monte-Carlo, which takes place from 23 - 26 January.

“It’s been a nice year,” said the Finn. “This is what I wanted, this is why we took this year. It’s been different, doing different things and still being busy – but that was my plan. I’ve enjoyed it. Now I’m ready to come back and the motivation is absolutely there.”

Looking ahead to 2025, Rovanperä expects a big battle, adding: “It’s going to be a proper fight and a great year.”

Having missed this year’s Monte, Rovanperä admitted his preparations are even more valuable in the run-up to round one of 2025.

“I don’t think you can ever be completely ready for Monte Carlo,” he said. “This is a rally which has so many different conditions with the weather always changing and it can change so quickly. It’s that kind of race, it’s always an exciting way to start the season.”

Rovanperä lines up to score points with Toyota team-mates Elfyn Evans and eight-time world champion Sébastien Ogier.
