Twists, turns, and triumphs: Help decide WRC's Dramatic Moment of 2024
The 2024 FIA World Rally Championship season was packed with twists and turns. Now, it's time for you to decide: what was the most jaw-dropping, heart-stopping moment of the season?

SS18 at Croatia Rally
It was a Sunday showdown like no other as Sébastien Ogier leapt from third to first in a shocking turn of events during the final day of Croatia Rally.
Overnight leader Thierry Neuville’s hopes were shattered after he slid into a tree, costing him critical time and causing damage to his car’s aerodynamics. Moments later, Elfyn Evans – who had been second - spun on the very same stage, losing 20 seconds and opening the door for Ogier to snatch victory. The result? Ogier claimed his second Croatia Rally win – and his 100th WRC podium – by just 9.7 seconds.

Rally Italia Sardegna's Wolf Power Stage
Ogier found himself on the other side of the ledger when Rally Italia Sardegna delivered one of the most dramatic finishes in WRC history.
The Frenchman looked poised for another victory until disaster struck on the very last stage when a damaged tyre in the final kilometres robbed him of the win, handing Ott Tänak a shock victory by an agonising 0.2 seconds – equalling the closest finish in WRC history. Tänak’s triumph was bittersweet, as it mirrored the heartbreak he suffered on the same stage in 2019.

Sunday at Central European Rally
This year’s Central European Rally saved its most dramatic twist for final day. Tänak and Ogier were locked in a fierce duel, separated by just 1.5 seconds heading into the penultimate test.
But in a cruel turn of fate, Ogier crashed out on a left-hand corner, handing Tänak victory by 7.0 seconds. The result kept Tänak’s title hopes alive and ensured the championship battle would go down to the wire in Japan.

SS17 at FORUM8 Rally Japan
Neuville’s long-awaited maiden world championship crown came in dramatic fashion at FORUM8 Rally Japan. With just a 25-point cushion heading into the finale, the Belgian’s title hopes still hung in the balance until Tänak – the only driver who could stop him – crashed out of the lead on SS17.
The drama sealed Neuville’s title four stages early on a day which also Toyota clinch the manufacturers' championship on the very last stage, capping off a season finale filled with action and emotion.
