The 25-year-old drove a factory Puma on three occasions this
year and impressed with a home run which came within a stage of landing him a
maiden podium at the sport’s highest level. Either side of that stellar effort
in the Baltics, Sesks competed in Poland and Chile without the benefit of the
hybrid electric boost.
M-Sport team principal Richard Millener has been
consistently impressed with Sesks and is keen to further the relationship.
Sesks attended last month’s Central European Rally to further those
discussions.
“He came to talk about the situation,” said Millener. “I
think you know my feelings, the team’s feelings – we would very much like to
work with Mārtiņš into the future and he’s on a shortlist of drivers we’re
talking to.
“What he achieved with us this season was very, very
impressive and we remain aware of that. We need to talk about what he can do, I
think people are understanding of the fact that we need budget to make things
happen. There’s desire to make it work, right now we’re talking and let’s see
what we can do.”
