Sébastien Ogier’s entry for the 10th round of this year’s FIA World Rally Championship is a confirmation, if it was needed, of the Frenchman’s plans to fight for a ninth world title. The Toyota GAZOO Racing star currently trails championship leader Thierry Neuville by 27 points and will be joined at the Lamia-based fixture by fellow GR Yaris Rally1 drivers Elfyn Evans, currently fourth in the points, and Takamoto Katsuta.
Neuville forms part of a three-strong Hyundai i20 N Rally1 team alongside Ott Tänak, who sits third in the points despite his crash at Secto Rally Finland, and Dani Sordo. Greece will mark Sordo’s third start of the season and the 192nd of his WRC career.
In addition to young talents Adrien Fourmaux and Grégoire Munster, M-Sport Ford has entered a third Puma Rally1 for gentleman driver Jourdan Serderidis to drive on his home round.

A total of 72 cars will take the start of this year’s EKO Acropolis Rally Greece (5 – 8 September), including nine in the headline Rally1 category and 29 in WRC2.
With series leader Oliver Solberg sitting this one out, Sami Pajari tops the WRC2 entry. After sampling the highs of Rally1 machinery earlier this month, the Finn will return to a Rally2-specification Toyota with co-driver Enni Mälkönen alongside.
Citroën Rally2 star Yohan Rossel has opted to score points for the first time since Rally Italia Sardegna in June, while other entrants include his team-mate Nikolay Gryazin plus Jan Solans, Lauri Joona, and Nikolay Gryazin.
Nineteen crews will compete for WRC3 victory while in the FIA Junior WRC, for which Greece marks the season finale, 14 crews have entered in identical M-Sport Poland Ford Fiesta Rally3 cars.
