M-Sport Ford eyes Puma podium return

M-Sport Ford team principal Richard Millener is pushing his squad for a return to the World Rally Championship podium through the next three gravel events.

The British-based team enjoyed a strong start to the season with Adrien Fourmaux posting two top-three finishes in the first three rounds. The Frenchman remains in the thick of the fight for the championship going into the sensational trio of ORLEN Rally Poland, Tet Rally Latvia and Secto Rally Finland across the next two months.

Millener said: “The last rally in Sardinia was one of the toughest European events on the WRC calendar, we knew it would be hard to continue the good run Adrien has enjoyed from the start of the season.”

While Fourmaux was slowed with an electrical issue aboard the Ford Puma Rally1 Hybrid on the Italian island, team-mate Grégoire Munster enjoyed his best result to date in fifth.

“We were pleased with Grégoire’s speed and congratulations to him and Louis Louka on their best result. Now, we turn towards the summer and the three faster rallies to come – obviously these are different in nature and style and we’re really determined to get back to chasing the podium places.”

Fourmaux has podium form on the season’s fastest rally, previously finishing second in WRC2 in Jyväskylä.
