The pair will both pilot near-identical Ford Fiesta Rally3 cars on the snow-covered roads near Umeå. Kohn, who is 20, was originally inspired to start rallying after he visited one of Černý’s test sessions and has since been nurtured by the 33-year-old veteran.
Černý won last month’s Rallye Monte-Carlo alongside co-driver Ondřej Krajča. Unlike Kohn, however, this is his first attempt at Rally Sweden.
“It will be my first time in Sweden, so I don't know the stages,” Černý admitted, “but in the past I have done snow rallies and I was able to go quite fast.
“Without a doubt, it will be very complicated, but after the maximum number of points achieved in Monte we believe that the start has been good and we will start with the desire to do just as well," he added.
Sweden’s 18-strong WRC3 field is bolstered by a host of up-and-coming stars who have also registered for this year’s FIA Junior WRC. Some of the drivers include Diego Domínguez, Norbert Maior and Romet Jürgenson.
