The Bavarian spa town was selected for its extensive accommodation options and rallying pedigree, having previously acted as the central hub for the ADAC-run 3-Städte Rallye. It will now gear up to host the second edition of the highly successful Central European Rally which sees stages spread across Germany, Austria and Czech Republic.
The service park will be located on the nearby grounds of the Karpfham folk festival – which welcomes 400,000 people annually for its agricultural and beer festival.
Pending World Motor Sport Council approval on 28 February, the date of the event will move two weeks earlier than previously announced to 17-20 October.
