Loubet aims to reclaim the spotlight after challenging 2023

Pierre-Louis Loubet is already looking forward to next season and the opportunity to further demonstrate his pace at the forefront of the FIA World Rally Championship.

After a stunning 2022 season, during which he led a WRC round for the first time, the M-Sport Ford driver struggled to maintain that rapid progression through this year – and ultimately ended his campaign a rally early, missing last month’s FORUM8 Rally Japan.

The 26-year-old is, however, determined to bounce back in 2024.

“I don’t think this year really showed what we are capable of,” he said. “Last year was good; it was strong, but this time it wasn’t quite the same. There was some disappointment throughout the [year].

“Before next year, I will take some rest and reset everything in my mind. This was a tough year, but next time I want to show again what I can do. I just need to have things going my way – and sometimes I need to take some luck as well. This year we didn’t have so much good luck.”

Loubet remains in discussions with M-Sport to stay in the Puma Rally1 Hybrid into next season, for what would be his third consecutive campaign with the British team.

Last year demonstrated the Corsican’s pace and potential with a pair of fourth places in Sardinia and Greece. His best results this season were a pair of sixth places in Sweden and Estonia.
