Fourmaux ready to put Fiesta upgrades to the test

These are exciting times for M-Sport Ford driver Adrien Fourmaux. The Frenchman returns to a Ford Puma Rally1 Hybrid in Japan next month, but this week hw wheels out a latest-specification Fiesta Rally2 at the Central European Rally.

Fourmaux’s Fiesta benefits from the latest upgrades, including a new, improved and recently homologated cooling package. He used the new car for the first time to finish second behind M-Sport team-mate Ott Tänak (the Estonian was running the Puma) at last weekend’s Herbst Rallye in Austria.

The youngster is looking forward to demonstrating the Fiesta’s pace in one of the FIA World Rally Championship’s most competitive categories as the series’ penultimate round runs across three countries this week.

Fourmaux said: “It’s a new event for everyone, so it’s a bit of a zero-point, which is a positive.

“We have to keep challenging and developing our pace notes throughout the weekend. It’s nice to have a new Tarmac WRC event, covering three countries, and the roads look to be very different each day.

“It’s nice to be back on Tarmac after so many gravel events. The preparation rally in Austria this weekend [helped us] to get ready for Central Europe – fine-tuning the set-up and learning as much as we can which should help us this weekend.”

Team principal Richard Millener said he was confident in Fourmaux’s potential.

“Adrien has,” said Millener, “had a good season so far and we’ve been very impressed with him. The WRC2 category is very competitive but he repeatedly holds his own and there’s no reason he can’t do that this week too."
