Neuville excited for new challenge at CER

Thierry Neuville is looking forward to the challenge of next week’s Central European Rally – even with the potential for changeable weather on the FIA World Rally Championship's tri-nation qualifier.

Having won both Rallye Monte-Carlo and Ypres Rally Belgium in the past, the Hyundai Motorsport driver has exceptional credentials when it comes to competing in mixed conditions.

With Toyota already having clinched the manufacturers’ crown and Neuville himself ruled out of the chance of a drivers’ title, he’s more ready and prepared then ever to push for victory on the two remaining WRC rounds.

“I am looking forward to Central European [Rally],” he said. “It’s nice to go to another new event and I think this one is going to be a challenging rally, for sure.

“The weather can be interesting with the chance for rain and different conditions. I don’t mind. As well as this, it’s going to be a challenge for the length, we are coming for some long days with a different country on every day.”

Neuville is confident the i20 N Rally1 Hybrid has moved forwards since Croatia, when he felt his early lead might have flattered the set-up of the car.

“I didn’t feel so comfortable with the car there,” he said. “We have done some work – hopefully the car is faster.”
