The Finn completed a series of demonstration runs in the car and offered selected Pirelli guests their first taste of the World Rally Championship’s premier class. Latvala wasn’t the only current WRC star in attendance, with Hyundai’s Dani Sordo also entertaining big crowds in the principality.
Latvala said: “When I drove the car on the Thursday evening for the first time, it was on the legend stage and at this place the first thing you find is a roundabout - you do two or three laps around this in a big drift. I could hear the people, how excited they were at seeing the car going sideways and to see the smoke coming from the tyres.
“It was fantastic to drive the car [on Tarmac]. I did some driving also at Misano circuit and this was a lot of fun as well. With the sun and the high temperatures, there was a lot of people coming from all over Europe to see this event and it was nice to drive the car and give them a show.”
