The eight-time world champion looked set to win the FIA World Rally Championship’s 10th round last week but was sidelined on the final stage of the penultimate day when his Toyota GR Yaris suffered rear suspension damage.
Ogier, who competes on a part-time basis, will miss the next round in Chile but hopes to return to action for Central European Rally (26 - 29 October), an all-new asphalt fixture which utilises stages in Germany, Austria and Czech Republic.
“That’s going to be like a home event,” the Frenchman told WRC.com. “It’s close to where I live, which is Munich, but I have actually never been at all in this area. It’s going to be a very new rally for, I guess, all of the teams.
“When we get there, straight away there will be a lot of work and a lot of preparations because everything is going to be new. I heard that the Czech Republic is very challenging with fast, slippy roads and very bumpy. I am not so sure from the German side, but we will see.”
Of his decision to restart on Sunday in Greece despite being out of contention for an overall result, Ogier added: “The motivation was not the easiest to find, but at the end I did it for the team. They deserve it, they do a lot of effort for us, so I have to be as professional as I can.
