Dominguez takes control in WRC3

Diego Dominguez holds a commanding lead of more than three minutes over Eamon Kelly in WRC3 with three stages remaining at EKO Acropolis Rally Greece.

Paraguayan Dominguez is chasing his third victory of the season in the all-Ford Fiesta Rally3 category and was handed an unexpected advantage when overnight joint leader Laurent Pellier was forced to retire on the day’s opening test with a broken gearbox.

His demise left Dominguez with a sizeable 2min 30.9 sec advantage over Ireland’s Eamon Kelly – an advantage that eclipsed three minutes by the end of the day despite the former fighting power steering issues throughout the morning.

Tom Rensonnet sits a lonely third, 3min 26.7sec down on Kelly but 1min 37.3sec clear of Nataniel Bruun who is on his WRC debut.Roberto Blach and William Creighton round out the top six.
