Kremer: We're back in the Masters Cup fight

Armin Kremer is looking forward to another thrilling run in for this year’s WRC2 Masters Cup title race – the German’s Safari Rally Kenya win playing him firmly back into contention.

Kremer just missed last season’s silverware after being pipped at the post by Italian rival – and fellow Škoda Fabia driver – Mauro Miele. He’s hoping to go one better this year, with WRC2 Masters Cup wins in Croatia and Naivasha balanced by a brace of retirements in Portugal and Sardinia.

Kremer sits fourth in the championship, eight points down on series leader Johannes Keferböck.

“We had two runs with zero points in Portugal and Sardinia and I think we are back in the championship now," he said.

“Kenya was an incredible rally for us. It is a new one and it was my first time in Africa and I’m really, really happy with the result we got from there. It was a crazy rally and not normal compared to European events. Everybody said you can go to this place and drive this race and you understand this race. It lived up to the adventure!

“But now, it’s time for Estonia, a completely different rally. Let’s see what we can do.”
