Organising team Svensk Bilsport today (Friday) confirmed that the event, one of the oldest on the FIA World Rally Championship calendar, will be based in university city Umeå for the third consecutive year.
In addition to a host of ultra-fast stages in the frozen forests of north-eastern Sweden, the fan-favourite Red Barn Arena - a short walk away from the Umeå service park - also returns bigger and better than ever.
According to Anna Nordkvist, Secretary General of the Swedish Automobile Sports Federation and CEO of Rally Sweden, preparations are already underway to ensure an extraordinary experience for the expected 200,000 attendees.
“Work on next year’s major rally fest starts now. We’re focusing a lot on enhancing the experience for the 200,000 or so people we’re expecting, and we’re also making sure all the drivers have the best conditions possible,” she said. “For many of them, it’s an exotic experience to come to Sweden and compete during the winter on snow and ice.
