Breen’s friends tackle Raven’s Rock memorial drive

The Raven’s Rock Rally held a special place in Breen’s heart, not least because he was born and raised in host town Waterford, but also because both he and his father Ray won the asphalt fixture two times apiece.

Chen, co-driven by Breen’s media guru Sean Hassett, will contest this year’s edition behind the wheel of a Škoda Fabia S2500 owned by Breen family friend Andy Fanning. The car will be adorned with a special livery - to be revealed shortly - in the Irishman’s memory.

“This was Craig’s absolute favourite event,” Chen told WRC.com. “He loved it. We’ve all seen the videos online of him chucking a MK2 Escort around down there.

“We’re doing this as three close mates who want to celebrate and commemorate Craig on his home event. It’s a special car but it’s an even more special livery. It’s very personal and very unique to Craig.

“The one person who would be roaring with laughter and find this whole idea absolutely hilarious would be Craig himself. So, if anybody is in Waterford, come and say hello - we’d love to see you. Come out and wave your CB flags, take pictures of the car and share your stories, and let’s honour Craig together.”
