The FIA Rally Star initiative is aimed at aspiring rally drivers aged between 17 and 26 and provides them with a pathway to the WRC pyramid.
Out of over 6,700 participants worldwide who competed in qualifying events, the top drivers from each country advanced to continental finals. Six winners were then selected based on their performances driving LifeLive TN5 cars in timed stages, physical tests, and expert interviews.
Earlier this month, Peru’s Annia Cilloniz emerged victorious in the women's final, securing her place alongside continental winners Jose "Abito" Caparo (Peru), Max Smart (South Africa), Taylor Gill (Australia), Romet Jurgenson (Estonia) and Abdullah Al Tawqi (Oman) for the FIA Rally Star Training Season, which begins next week.
During the camp, industry experts will offer advice on driving skills, car set-up, pace note preparation, physical and mental coaching, interviews and social media practices. The drivers will also test M-Sport Poland Ford Fiesta Rally3 cars on asphalt and gravel surfaces.
Additionally, they will complete the reconnaissance for Rally Italia Sardegna (1 - 4 June), while the final day will focus on media activities, including a press conference and interviews in the service park.
"The training camp will provide the first chance for the six participants to gather together and learn from all the experts who will be providing crucial knowledge and advice in a wide range of areas,” said FIA Rally Star Project Leader Jérôme Roussel.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for these very talented youngsters and one I am sure they will all maximise to the fullest.”
Starting from mid-June, the finalists will each contest six national rallies in Ford Fiesta Rally3 cars, with the top-four performers earning a fully-funded drive in the 2024 FIA Junior WRC.
For 2025, three of those drivers will go forward into a second Junior WRC season and if one of the FIA Rally Star members wins the title, they will secure a WRC2 campaign for 2026.
