Fourmaux praises Fiesta Rally2 developments

Adrien Fourmaux has praised M-Sport’s recent improvements to the Ford Fiesta Rally2 and looks forward to more developments coming later this season.

The Frenchman finished fourth in WRC2 at last month’s Croatia Rally, overcoming an electrical issue on the opening day to win Saturday morning’s first test and demonstrate plenty of front-of-the-field pace across the weekend around Zagreb.

“I’m really happy with what we did in Croatia,” said Fourmaux. “It wasn’t so easy to start with, we had a wet test and going to a dry event was a bit complicated, but the team found a really good way with the car and for the last two days the feeling was very strong.

“I know last year it was a bit difficult for this car on the Tarmac, but now it’s really positive. The improvements in the chassis made the difference. This one (Croatia) was a really tough event, so hard to read and understand the grip – the weather is crazy sometimes and the mud and the gravel in the cuts make it hard.”

Fourmaux will contest next week’s Vodafone Rally de Portugal, where he aims to continue to showcase the potential and pace of the M-Sport Ford.

“The team has done a really good job with the car,” he said, “and we have some more developments coming in the middle of the year.”
