Creighton tops WRC3 entry for Croatia Rally

A strong showing in Croatia this week (20 - 23 April) could see William Creighton leave round four of the FIA World Rally Championship with the WRC3 series lead.

Creighton, who currently holds third in the series, trails leader Diego Dominguez by 19 points heading into the season’s first pure asphalt fixture. Although Dominguez is competing in Croatia, the Paraguayan has elected only to count points towards his FIA Junior WRC campaign - and not WRC3.

It means that victory for Creighton, who has contested this rally twice previously, would move him to the top of the standings.

But it’s not only the Irishman who is eyeing the top spot of the leaderboard. Laurent Pellier, a podium finisher last time out in Sweden, is also eager to improve on his current fifth-place championship position.

The last time Pellier competed on asphalt (at last year’s ERC RallyRACC Catalunya - Costa Daurada), he steered a front-wheel drive Opel Corsa to a mighty sixth overall.

Other stars to keep an eye on include Spain’s Roberto Blach and Belgium’s Tom Rensonnet as well as Eamonn Kelly, who hails from Ireland. Hamza Anwar makes his sealed-surface debut alongside new co-driver Martin Brady, while Filip Kohn and Martin Ravenščak complete the all-Ford Fiesta Rally3 entry.
