With two wins from the two rallies he’s started, Ogier tops the Drivers' Championship standings after round three, despite having skipped Rally Sweden.
A Wolf Power Stage win last time out made for a perfect Rally Guanajuato México.
“What Séb was able to do in that last stage [in México] was incredible,” said Latvala. “There were so many emotions, but I am so happy and so proud of the team.
“For Séb, I see him driving very relaxed this year and this, for me, going to improve your performance. This is the good thing [for Ogier] – he is coming with this feeling, but he is bringing the maximum speed to fight. It’s working very well for him.”
Ogier will contest the next round in Croatia, with the team keen to see his feelings for the development of the Yaris GR Rally1 on asphalt. Beyond Zagreb, the eight-time world champion’s programme remains fluid.
“We’re still talking about the programme,” said Latvala. “Probably, Séb could do more, but at the same time we have to be careful not to ask him too much. He’s doing what he’s doing [right now] because he’s happy and relaxed. We want to keep this.”
