Shortly before flying out to León for WRC2 action, the Frenchman won a snow-shortened Malcolm Wilson Rally in northern England.
Driving a Ford Fiesta Rally2, Fourmaux and co-driver Alex Coria won three of the five stages to take victory by close to a minute on Saturday.
“I think we knew it wasn’t going to be the perfect conditions for a Mexico test,” said Fourmaux. “The conditions, the ice, made it really interesting and these stages are just beautiful. I won this rally before and I’m happy to do it again – to win the Malcolm Wilson Rally is special.
“It’s important to get seat time before Mexico and I was happy for this. The last time I drove this car was a year ago on gravel. I had a good time on this rally, it was really, really good fun.”
