Revealed: Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 2023

Toyota Gazoo Racing has unveiled its 2023-specification GR Yaris Rally1 ahead of next week’s Rallye Monte-Carlo (19 – 22 January).

The Japanese marque heads into the season targeting its third consecutive manufacturers’ championship title and fields four cars at the opening round.

The Yaris has undergone a series of technical tweaks, including engine upgrades to improve the delivery of both power and torque. The biggest change, however, is far more visible with the loss of the air intakes on the side of the car.

Toyota has also tweaked the rear wing, a move which follows and ties in with aero updates which arrived at the tail end of last year.

Reigning world champion Kalle Rovanperä is joined by team-mates Elfyn Evans and Sébastien Ogier for the French Alps fixture.

Takamoto Katsuta will drive a fourth car but will not score manufacturers’ points on this occasion. He will, however, be promoted into the team’s third point-scoring car on events which Ogier does not contest.
