Munster voted WRC’s Most Improved Driver of 2022

FIA World Rally Championship fans around the world have voted Grégoire Munster as their Most Improved Driver of 2022.

Thousands participated in the fan vote, which was open from 13 - 31 December. Twenty-four-year-old Munster emerged as the winner with 25.5 per cent of the votes going in his favour - closely edging Fabrizio Zaldivar, who received 23 per cent. Kalle Rovanperä - the current WRC champion - was a close third.

The 2022 season was one full of promise for Munster, who finally made his breakthrough in WRC2 driving a Hyundai i20 N Rally2. The youngster turned heads with a top-five result at Rallye Monte-Carlo which he repeated once more at Ypres Rally Belgium.

In true style, however, the Luxembourger saved the best for last - capping off the year with his maiden WRC2 triumph at FORUM8 Rally Japan where a wet-weather masterclass moved him from third to first on the final day.

Those performances have since earned Munster a place in M-Sport Ford’s second-tier squad this year. He will debut a Fiesta Rally2 at the season-opening Rallye Monte-Carlo (19 - 22 January).
