Twelve years after it last appeared in the WRC fixture list, FORUM8 Rally Japan - the home of championship-winning manufacturer Toyota - is hosting the final round of the 2022 FIA World Rally Championship.
Unlike previous editions, this year's event features an all-asphalt format based out of Toyota Stadium in Aichi, which hosts the service park and main rally hub.
The rally gets underway on Thursday evening (local time) with the ceremonial start which is immediately followed by a 2.75km curtain-raiser in the picture-postcard Kuragaike Park.
Friday's opening leg is the longest of the rally and features three different stages - each of which are run twice - bringing the daily total to 132.97km. Isegami's Tunnel (23.29km) and Shitara Town (22.44km) sandwich Inabu Dam (19.38km), with the two loops punctuated by a 40-minute service.
Saturday follows a similar format. Nukata Forest (20.56km) and Lake Mikawako (14.74km) are driven morning and afternoon while a single run through Shinshiro City (7.08km) rounds off the morning loop. Double runs of the fan-favourite Okazaki City SSS (1.40km) bring the day to a close.
Sunday's finale boasts five stages with no opportunity for service. Asahi Kougen (7.52km) opens proceedings and is followed by Ena City (21.59 km). Nenoue Plateau (11.60km) also features before Ena City and Asahi Kougen are repeated in reverse order from the morning - the latter hosting the bonus points-paying Wolf Power Stage.
The 19 stages tally 283.27km in a total route of 965.25km.
