WRC Family mourns passing of Mark Wilford

The WRC community is saddened and in mourning following the untimely loss of our beloved friend and colleague Mark ‘Wilf’ Wilford.

Mark passed away on 1 September following a short battle with illness.

First and foremost, Mark was more than just a colleague. He was a friend to all those that worked with him. He joined the WRC Promoter as PR and Communications Manager during the Promoter's formative days in 2013.

He devoted more than two decades of his professional life to rallying, first covering series at national level before making the switch to Ford and later to the WRC Promoter.

During that time, Mark developed an unflappable reputation as one of the most respected people in the WRC service park. It was impossible for him to walk through the service park without being pulled aside for a chat, a catch-up or his trusted opinion.

Always ready to help and displaying great deals of patience, Mark was the ‘go-to’ guy in the WRC Promoter team.

He leaves behind an incredible void that will be impossible to fill.

During this incredibly difficult time, the thoughts of all at the WRC Promoter are with his wife, two daughters and extended family.

You will be greatly missed Wilf.
