Series leader Andreas Mikkelsen tops the list in his Toksport-run ŠKODA Fabia Rally2 Evo. The Norwegian will be chasing a fourth win and fifth podium in what will be his final outing of the WRC2 season.
The crews are permitted to enter seven rounds of the championship – they then count their best six scores.
Frenchman Yohan Rossel is searching for a third win of the year, following his exceptional back-to-back successes in Croatian and Portugal earlier in the season. The Citroën star was back on the podium at Ypres Rally Belgium last time out and knows he needs a similarly strong result to keep his campaign on track.
WRC2 Junior series leader Chris Ingram is back on the gravel for the first time since Rally Italia Sardegna in early June.
Arguably one of the biggest title aspirants is absent from Greece. Kajetan Kajetanowicz sits third in the championship having started the least number of rounds. The former European Rally Champion has lifted three podiums from four starts, with a Safari Rally Kenya victory his highlight so far.
Kajetanowicz has three scoring possibilities remaining and he won’t face defending champion and fellow Fabia driver Mikkelsen on any of them.
Teemu Suninen (Hyundai i20 N Rally2), Georg Linnamäe (Volkswagen Polo GTI R5) and Martin Prokop (Ford Fiesta Rally2) ensure five manufacturers will be chasing WRC2 glory on one of the world’s most famous rallies.
Of that 35-strong entry, nine are Greek drivers. Former Acropolis Rally winner Lambros Athanassoulas is likely to be leading the charge for home-grown glory aboard his Hyundai i20 N Rally2.
