“Unfortunately it means Adrien and Alex will not compete in Greece, the crew will travel there to take part in recce in preparation for the future.”

Fourmaux’s Ypres crash was his fourth of the season, with similar incidents occurring at Rallye Monte-Carlo as well as in Croatia and Italy.

M-Sport is expected to field five cars in Greece, with Craig Breen joined by Sébastien Loeb, Gus Greensmith, Pierre-Louis Loubet and gentleman driver Jourdan Serderidis.

The British squad announced today (Wednesday) that it had pulled the Frenchman’s entry for the Lamia-based fixture and explained his withdrawal was related to his crash on the final day of Ypres Rally Belgium.

A statement, published on the team’s social media channels, read:

“Due to his accident on Ypres Rally, it is not possible for the team to repair Adrien Fourmaux’s car in time for Acropolis Rally.
