Pajari bids to extend WRC3 lead in Estonia

Sami Pajari will look to stretch his championship lead in the WRC3 category at Rally Estonia this week (14 - 17 July).

Pajari - also registered for the FIA Junior WRC - carries a 17-point advantage into the championship’s seventh round and has won two rallies in his four starts so far this season.

The Finn knows exactly what it takes to be competitive on Estonia’s superfast gravel stages as he won the junior category on the event last year. This year, however, he plans to roll the dice and see how things go.

"I am looking forward to the weekend," said Pajari. "I think Estonia is one of the nicest rallies of the season - it’s fast and flowing with lots of jumps which gives a nice feeling.

"It’s good if we can win here, but at the moment, I don’t have a plan of what to aim for. I will try to go at the speed I am comfortable with and then we will see.”

Joining Pajari on the five-car Ford Fiesta Rally3 entry is fellow Finn Lauri Joona as well as William Creighton, who retired last time out in Portugal.

Roope Korhonen makes his WRC debut while Mcrae Kimathi - second in the points - rounds out the list.
