Italy countdown - rally route

Rally Italia Sardegna (2 - 5 June) has gained a reputation as one of the toughest events on the WRC calendar. This week’s rally will be no different.

Following service in Alghero, two more stages in Osilo - Tergu (14.63 km) and Sedini - Castelsardo (13.26 km) run twice each before the return to Alghero at 2011.

Saturday features eight more stages near Monte Acuto, with 131.82km of action broken into two loops of four tests. There will be no midday service halt.

Tempio Pausania (12.03 km) and Erula - Tula (15.27 km) are each repeated twice in the morning, while double runs of Coiluna - Loelle (21.60 km) and Monte Lerno (17.01 km) round off the day before the overnight halt in Alghero.

Crews will head north of Alghero along the coast on Sunday to tackle the Cala Flumini (12.55km) and Sassari-Argentiera (7.10km) tests. Both stages are run twice on Sunday, with the latter being the venue for the bonus points-paying Wolf Power Stage, which gets underway at 1218 local time.

As has become tradition, whoever emerges from the finale on top will then dive - together with their whole team - into the Alghero harbour.

The rally returns to the picturesque base of Alghero, a switch from 2021 when it was located on the opposite side of the island. That’s not to say that last year’s base of Olbia won’t be included.

Following Thursday morning’s 3.53km shakedown at Olmedo close to Alghero, competitors cross the Mediterranean island to Olbia for the evening’s ceremonial start followed by Cabu Abbas, (3.23km), a new super special test in the suburbs of the east coast city.

The alarm clocks will be set bright and early for the 0610hrs restart on Friday - the longest day of the rally - from Molo Brin. In the morning there will be two stages repeated twice around the Monte Acuto region in Terranova (14.19 km) and Monti di Alà (24.70 km).
