Michelin Magic Moment

What is your magic moment from an exciting and dramatic 2017 WRC campaign? The standout memory of the spectacular new-era World Rally Cars competing flat-out over more than 4000km of snow, ice, dirt and asphalt across the globe?

We’ve selected a shortlist of four nominations and put them into a video compilation below for you to enjoy. Take a look and cast your vote for the Michelin Magic Moment, which will be awarded at the WRC Gala Night and awards in Sydney later this month.

The nominations are:

Kris Meeke – a classic comedy clip from Mexico. Watch as Meeke appears to grab defeat from the jaws of victory 750 metres from the end of the Power Stage, only to save the day. And listen to co-driver Paul Nagle’s memorable comments.

Jari-Matti Latvala – after 17 years away from the WRC, Toyota returned in style with Latvala’s shock win in Sweden on only its second event back. See how much it meant to the Japanese manufacturer’s senior management.

Esapekka Lappi – it took Lappi just four rounds in a World Rally Car to get off the mark with a sensational maiden victory. And where better to achieve that landmark than in front of your fanatical home fans in Finland?

Ott Tänak – remember those tears in Poland last season when a penultimate stage puncture cruelly deprived him of a first victory? The Estonian put things right in the heat and dust of high summer in Sardinia this year.

The winner will be announced during the star-studded gala, which follows the final round at Kennards Hire Rally Australia (16 - 19 November).

More than 250 guests, including drivers, co-drivers, team bosses, senior officials, city personalities and government representatives will celebrate at Sydney’s Museum of Contemporary Art, across the water from the famous Opera House, on Monday 20 November.

While casting your vote you will also be entered into our competition to win a fantastic annual subscription to our WRC+ interactive digital service worth 49.99 euros.

The lucky winners won’t miss a minute of the 2018 WRC, with access to action-packed live stages, on-demand highlights programmes, live timing and maps, exclusive onboard videos and much more.

Four more categories will be decided by fan votes here on wrc.com. If you are having problems with the voting form on mobile devices, please use this direct link: https://goo.gl/8MgDKj
