Fresh start for
Bertelli in 2016

Lorenzo Bertelli will campaign an M-Sport-prepared Ford Fiesta RS in next year's WRC after making sweeping changes to his organisational set-up.

The ambitious Italian has disbanded the FWRT operation that ran his WRC 2 and WRC class Fiestas for the last two seasons, and will instead drive a car prepared and run by M-Sport's customer team.

A spokesman said the decision should free Bertelli from team manager responsibilities and allow him to concentrate solely on his driving.

Bertelli will tackle a 13-round WRC programme in 2016, including all events except the new addition in China.

Inside the car there are changes too, with Italian Simone Scattolin taking over as co-driver from Lorenzo Granai, who took the job on a temporary basis after Bertelli split from Giovanni Bernacchini earlier this year.

Scattolin contested six rounds of the WRC this year alongside WRC 3 driver Fabio Andolfi.

The name of Bertelli's new team is yet to be finalised - as is the livery that will replace the distinctive military green scheme of the last two seasons.
