Live TV feast in Finland

WRC fans can enjoy a feast of spectacular live TV coverage from this week’s Neste Rally Finland (27 - 30 July) with five speed tests screened worldwide.

The highlight of the coverage from the ninth round of the FIA World Rally Championship is Saturday afternoon’s second pass through the classic Ouninpohja special stage, regarded as the sport’s biggest test of bravery and commitment.

The 24.38km test, driven in this format for the first time since 2013, is full of flat-out jumps and sweeping bends. Spectacular locations include the famous Yellow House jump, where competitors fly high and far, and the fan-favourite Kakaristo hairpin shortly before the finish.

Fourteen stageside cameras will bring unrivalled action from the blisteringly fast and wide gravel roads, while the leading 15 cars will each be fitted with three onboard cameras to provide a driver’s eye view of the test and other dramatic angles.

A helicopter will deliver stunning shots from the air as a 40-person team produces white-hot exploits from one of the season’s showpieces.

Other live highlights include Sunday lunchtime’s rally-closing Oittila Power Stage, where drivers will fight for crucial bonus points. The 90-minute programme will culminate with a podium ceremony. The first run earlier in the morning will also be screened live.

The Harju street test, in the heart of host town Jyväskylä, will feature twice. Thursday night’s stage, which opens the rally, and the second pass which ends Friday’s leg will be broadcast.

More than 35 broadcasters will air live coverage in more than 100 countries, including Finland, Germany, Britain, Italy, Spain, France and Poland. Elsewhere, the action can also be viewed in China, Japan, United States, India and various countries in Africa and South America.

All five stages will also be available to watch on WRC+.
