Lorenzo Granai renewed his partnership with Lorenzo Bertelli midway through 2015, replacing Giovanni Bernacchini in the co-driver’s seat of the Italian’s Ford Fiesta RS.
The highly experienced Granai started his career in 1995 and won the two-wheel drive category in the Italian Junior Championship. He also won the two-wheel drive class in the British Championship in 2002.
His career really started to move forward in 2004 when he partnered Renato Travaglia in Italy’s works Peugeot team. Two years later the pair won two rounds of the Italian Championship, having switched to a Mitsubishi Lancer, and finished third in the European Championship in 2007.
Granai partnered Bertelli in the PWRC and WRC 2 from 2011 to 2013 before helping Giandomenico Basso to second in the Italian Championship in 2014.
