Barritt is regarded as one of Britain’s leading co-drivers having started competing in 1999 and contested more than 100 WRC rallies.

His career took off when he won the SCCA Pro Rally title in the United States with David Higgins in 2002 and 2003 and was one of three co-drivers who helped the Manxman to the British title in 2004.

Barritt has been a WRC regular since 2006 when he began a three-year partnership with Japanese PWRC driver Fumio Nutahara. A full WRC season with Conrad Rautenbach followed in 2009, before a switch back to PWRC in 2010 with another Japanese driver, Toshi Arai.

He navigated for WRC Academy front-runner Alastair Fisher in 2011 and 2012 before joining Welsh rising star Elfyn Evans in time for his breakthrough year in 2013.

They claimed a win and two second places in WRC 2 before stepping up to World Rally Car level with the M-Sport squad in 2014 and 2015, taking a best result of second in Corsica.

The partnership split in 2016 as Barritt provided vital experience to young Japanese driver Katsuta Takamoto in the Finnish Championship, but he reunited with Evans for the 2017 WRC in a DMACK World Rally Team Fiesta and together they secured their first win at WRC level.

Promoted back to the main M-Sport squad for 2018, Barritt and Evans are riding high as team-mates to world champions Sébastien Ogier and Julien Ingrassia.
