After demonstrating his talent in the Junior WRC, Anders Jæger was fast-tracked to the WRC’s top level in 2016 with a seat alongside Andreas Mikkelsen.

The partnership with Mikkelsen was planned for a while, but materialised a year earlier than expected after Ola Fløene announced in late 2015 that he was leaving the Norwegian to join Mads Østberg.

Jæger partnered fellow Norwegian Ole Christian Veiby from 2014 and the pair clinched three podiums in the junior category the following season, ending the year with a win in Britain.

His first season with Mikkelsen spanned the highs of wins in Poland and Australia en route to third in the championship, followed by the low of losing a full-time drive for 2017 when Volkswagen Motorsport withdrew from the series.

A part-time programme with Citroën brought the duo back to the forefront midway through 2017, before they joined Hyundai Motorsport for the final three rounds of the year and were later signed on a long-term contract.
