Born in Italy but now a Romanian resident, Tempestini started rallying in 2010 when he competed in Romania in a Dacia Logan and Subaru Impreza.

Tempestini made his WRC debut at Rally Finland in 2013 but his focus that year was the Production Cup in the European Championship. He accelerated his learning in 2014 with a packed 24-rally season that included a Junior WRC programme in a Citroën DS 3.

More than 30 rallies followed in a fruitful 2015. There were wins in the Junior WRC and WRC 3 classes, while seven wins in the Romanian Championship secured him the title.

Tempestini's international breakthrough came in 2016 when Junior WRC wins at the rounds in Germany, Poland and Portugal won him the WRC 3 and Junior titles and the top prize of a WRC 2 season in an R5-spec Citroën DS 3 for 2017.

He finished eighth after a podium in Portugal and four more top six results and returns to the category in 2018 in a DS 3 alongside a full season in the Romanian championship.
