Benito Guerra has flown the flag for Mexico in the WRC for more than 10 years.

He made his WRC debut at his home round in 2006, the same year he won the national title,
and topped the Group N category in Mexico at his third attempt two seasons later.

Three years in the Spanish gravel championship followed and in 2010 he won three rounds to seal the title, prompting a step up to the world stage in 2011 in the Production Car championship.

After a learning year, Guerra began his 2012 campaign with back-to-back victories in Mexico and Argentina. He sealed the title with a third win at the final round in Spain, becoming the first Mexican to win a WRC title.

Guerra made his World Rally Car debut in 2013, driving a Citroën DS 3 WRC to eighth at his home event. He hoped this impressive debut would lead to further outings, but a lack of sponsorship put those plans on hold.

In 2014 he recorded a career best sixth place in Mexico in a Ford Fiesta WRC, but again there were no funds for further outings and he was restricted to one-off WRC appearances in the following two seasons.

He made a fresh start in 2017, campaigning a Skoda Fabia R5 in WRC 2. He finished the year in fifth and returned in 2018 for a second season, netting two top six finishes.
