Ilka Minor’s career began when she co-drove for Achim Mörtl, with whom she made her WRC debut at the Tour de Corse in 1997.

Her career moved into top gear in 2001 when she started a long-term partnership with Manfred Stöhl and they finished third in the PWRC in a Fiat Punto S1600.

After World Rally Car outings in 2002 and 2003 and a PWRC campaign in 2004, Stöhl and Minor drove a Citroën Xsara WRC for the OMV Kronos team in 2005. They finished eighth in the WRC, taking second in Cyprus and third in Australia.

The following year they were fourth in a Peugeot 307 WRC, but their world championship campaign ended after the 2007 season.

They competed together until 2012 in the Austrian Championship, but Minor formed a new partnership in the WRC with Henning Solberg in 2010. Budget was always an issue for the Norwegian and when he could not secure a full programme in 2012, Minor joined rapid Russian Evgeny Novikov.

A full season with the Qatar M-Sport squad netted seventh place in 2013, but Novikov lost his seat and Minor rejoined Solberg in 2014.
