For the first time in its history, the WRC captured the attention of cumulative television audience of more than a billion in 2024, highlighted by remarkable growth in the Middle East and Asia.
This milestone once again highlights the WRC’s undeniable global appeal, with the 2024 calendar taking the championship to four continents over 13 thrilling rounds.
But the impact didn’t stop on TV screens. On social media, WRC’s strategic and collaborative approach powered its owned platforms to generate an impressive 1.78 billion impressions and nearly 70 million engagements – a 24 per cent increase on 2023.
WRC’s social presence kept evolving with the latest trends, including the launch of the championship’s official WhatsApp channel, adding to an already robust digital portfolio.
And it wasn’t just on screens where fans connected with the WRC – four million spectators filled the stages worldwide, immersing themselves in the championship’s unique DNA.
With a larger calendar in 2025 and new rounds venturing beyond Europe, the WRC is primed to continue its upward momentum with even greater viewership, social engagement and on-the-ground attendance in the seasons to come.
Surpassing 1 billion viewers is proof of the unparalleled global appeal of the WRC and the dedication of our team to continually innovate. This milestone not only highlights the championship's growth but also reflects the incredible passion of our worldwide fanbase. We’re excited to build on this momentum and keep raising the bar for the future.
