Virves shines as WRC Promoter puts spotlight on burgeoning Estonian talent
Victory on Delfi Rally Estonia delivered more than just 25 points for Robert Virves’ 2026 WRC2 Drivers’ Championship campaign
In alignment with Delfi Rally Estonia, WRC Promoter delivered a €50,000 prize pool to the three best-finishing young Estonians on their home rally, with Virves the main benefactor as rally winner, seeing him take home €25,000 – a significant contribution to his 2026 WRC2 title bid.
The former FIA Junior WRC champion is perfect so far in 2026 with three victories from three starts, seeing him sitting second overall, just four points shy of Roope Korhonen, who has two additional starts to his name.

Speaking following his victory, Virves spoke of the importance of the Promoter-backed incentive. “It's of course very nice to see such things because I believe that's how it should be, that young drivers can boost their career with the help of some good results. So definitely, in my opinion, [the] very right thing to do.”
Taking home €15,000 as the second-highest finishing Estonian was Patrick Enok. The young Estonian, who finished sixth overall in WRC2, benefitted further from WRC Promoter and Delfi Rally Estonia organisers as the recipient of a one-off €50,000 fund to assist his Estonian and upcoming Secto Rally Finland campaign.

Finishing as the third-best Estonian and earning €10,000 was Karl Martin Volver who, stood in front of his worse-for-wear looking Toyota GR Yaris Rally2, already knows how the winnings will be spent. “Third place [out of the Estonians] was quite a big bonus for us. We definitely deserve it because we need to fix our car,” he remarked, smiling.
With the three recipients of the prize completing the rally among the seven fastest Rally2 entries, WRC Promoter’s Senior Sport Director Peter Thul was quick to highlight the success of the campaign. “We want to assist these talented young Estonians in following in the footsteps of Ott Tänak,” he explained, continuing: “this was clearly achieved. They were consistently among the quickest drivers on the stages and I am confident we will see more of them joining Robert Virves on a regular basis on WRC events in 2027 and beyond.”
