Sami Joe claims second victory

Sami-Joe has recorded his second victory of the 2020 eSports WRC season, moving him a point ahead of Nexl in the overall standings, with just four events remaining.

Once more displaying the consistent form that has made him the only driver to finish on the podium in every race so far this season, Sami Joe finished nearly a second ahead of Izamusing, whilst Nexl was more than three seconds off the pace, back in third position.

29 points clear of the remainder of the field, the top three drivers could be excused for already starting to think ahead to the Grand Final.

A victory in Italy at Rally Sardinia in two weeks time could mathematically secure Sami-Joe qualification for the grand final. The same goes for two-time defending champion Nexl.

Despite finishing first, a lack of strong finishes from his team-mates means that Sami-Joe's WRCeDrivers remain in second position in the team standings, 20 points behind Race Clutch who benefitted once more from the strong showings from Nexl, Noel and Jonno, who finished third to fifth respectively. The next-best finishing WRCeDriver was Komatsu, down in sixth position.

Action continues in the eSports WRC Championship from 04-07 June, where drivers will take on the dust of Sardinia on the Italian stop on the calendar.
