WRC's Greatest Drivers: Tommi Makinen

Tommi Mäkinen is one of just two drivers to have won four consecutive WRC drivers’ titles, the Finn and his Mitsubishi Lancer proving almost untouchable between 1996 and 1999.

During that time he won 18 rallies, showing the kind of win ratio matched only by Sébastiens Loeb and Ogier.

A 52-minute documentary charting Mäkinen’s career is now available on our premium WRC+ digital service.

The film is the third in our December series of the WRC’s Greatest Drivers, following Colin McRae and Carlos Sainz. Still to come this month is the sport’s most successful driver, nine-time world champion Sébastien Loeb.

As well as our video specials, WRC+ is where you will find a spectacular 52-minute season review, more than 3,000 onboard videos and the best highlights from all 2014’s WRC events.

WRC+ Season Passes 2015 are available until 22 January 2015 with a special Christmas saving of 20% by using the promotion code ‘WRC2015’.
