New for 2016: Rally car developments
Here's what new tech will be hitting the stages this year
Fans on the website voted the Fiesta RS’ colour scheme the best-looking of the WRC’s 2015 manufacturer cars, gaining 34 per cent of the poll.
It prompted the British squad to adopt a similar design for 2016, retaining the blue stripes associated with some of Ford’s most iconic rally cars. However, the white base has been replaced by a light blue.
The livery, revealed this morning (Monday) ahead of the team’s final Rallye Monte-Carlo test in France, will also adorn the Fiesta R5 of Elfyn Evans at next week’s season opener.
“The 2015 livery was immensely popular so rather than changing it completely, the team opted for an evolution which has created a bold look for our 2016 FIA World Rally Championship campaign,” said team principal Malcolm Wilson.
Wilson also confirmed continued partnerships with Michelin and Castrol.
